Choir
|
Ambrit Choirs have an intense and rewarding agenda for this school year including concerts in school, in the city of Rome, and on trips. Rehearsals are extremely important. If you love to sing, you should be in choir. Check out the Ambrit Music website for more information. EC Choir (Ms. Lear) A chance for the EC children to sing action songs and popular children's songs.
Treble Choir (Ms. Short) This choir is open to students in grades 2 and 3, who enjoy the choir experience and love music and singing. Choir activities include weekly rehearsals, concerts, and the annual Castelli concert trip.
Junior Choir (Ms. Short) This choir is open to students in Grades 4 and 5. Choir activities include weekly rehearsals, concerts, and an overnight concert trip. All students who love music and love to sing are warmly invited.
Middle School Choir (Ms. Arney) The choir is open to all middle school students . Choir activities include weekly rehearsals, concerts, an overnight music trip, and the opportunity to audition for the MAIS Honor Choir.
Women's Choir (Ms Short) Join the Women's Choir and sing with us. Open to all moms, teachers, and friends. This choir meets weekly, sings at special events at school, and performs their special end of the year concert at Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere. No experience necessary. No fee.

(Various) Private music lessons in piano, violin, saxophone, flute (flauto traverso), cello, clarinet, drums and other instruments are available upon demand. Lessons have already begun f or many students who took lessons last year; there are very few openings left for piano. If you are interested contact Paige Short. Violin students study with Ginger Izzo. Students must have instruments at home so they can practice during the week. Violins may be rented from the school. Daily practice means improvement. If you want to study an instrument not listed here, let me know and I will do all I can to find a teacher for you. All private lessons must be registered with the After-School Program. Registration Forms for private lessons should be given to their instructor who is responsible for enrolling students with the After-School Program.

Junior Computer (Ms. Soehnlen) Come join the E.C. Computer Club to explore, have fun as you move ahead with your computer skills. Drawing and graphics with KidPix will be highlighted.
Computer 1 (Mr. Evans) Children will be involved in a range of various IT activities that will help develop their I.T. skills. Students will be using programs such as KidPix, Microsoft Word and Story Book Wizard to complete activities such as slideshows, drawing, story writing and word processing skills. Some work may even get to be published on the internet if possible.

Student Council - (Ms. Duranti) Those students elected as one of the four officers of Student Council ( President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer) must attend this club as the weekly planning/organizational meeting for Student Council activities. It is not necessary for homeroom reps to belong. However, any reps or other students who do join will automatically become head of one of the committees. The committees include Dance Committee, Student Council Website Committee, Journalist for the monthly Student Council News, and other interesting committees to be developed by the students in the club. Yearbook Club ( Ms. Kammerer & Mr. Bell) Get comfortable using PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS and learn the amazing program of QuarkXpress to express yourself in the fine art of computer graphics. This year the design club will be designing various posters and brochures for school wide events and we will get started early designing and completing, in a print-ready document, the Ambrit Yearbook 2008.
