Welcome Back!
-
- Dear Third Grade Families,
-
- Hello and welcome to Third Grade at Ambrit! I have been
looking forward to this first day of school and getting to meet
each one of my new students in 3D. I would also like to extend a
warm "welcome back" to Luke Gallat and his family who are
returning to Ambrit this year. We are expecting Leah Berger to
join us in January.
-
- These first weeks we will be establishing classroom routines
and building a classroom community that will allow for an exciting
and productive year together. To help get us started I have
outlined some important information and details regarding third
grade routines and supplies.
-
- Please begin the year with the following
items:
- (It is advisable to mark all of your child's belongings with
their name):
- 1. A backpack
- 2. An old t-shirt or smock for art class
- 3. A small lunch box for snack/lunch
- 4. A water bottle
-
- For schoolwork, your child will
need:
- 1. One homework binder: 1 small A4 size (2 or 4-ring) binder
(which will be used as a homework and correspondence folder).
- 2. 25 plastic page protectors
- 3. An A4 size clip board.
- 4. 1 box of tissues for our class to use throughout the year.
- * We request that these items be in by Monday, September 10th.
-
- Clothing:
- Our class has PE on Mondays and Wednesdays. In order to participate fully,
it is important that children come to school wearing appropriate
clothing and comfortable running shoes (with rubber soles) on
these days.
-
- Art is on Tuesdays and likewise students should be
dressed appropriately.
-
- Food:
- Children should bring a healthy snack for mid-morning. Fruit,
yogurt, juice, etc. are fine, but no candy or sweets please.
-
- Sickness:
- Please do not send medications of any kind with your child. If
your child is not fit enough to play outside, please keep him/her
at home since children cannot be supervised in the classroom
during playtime. If your child has any specific medical
conditions, please inform the school nurse.
-
- Contact:
- The easiest way to contact me is by sending a note with your
child. You may also leave a message with the school secretary
(06-5595305).
-
- Homework:
- Please check your child's binder DAILY for school notices and
homework. In third grade, you will notice an increase in homework.
We ask that you provide a quiet, comfortable place for your child
to study and assist them in establishing a regular homework
routine. We will be sending home more detailed information about
the third grade homework policy in the coming weeks.
-
- Bus:
- If you have planned a change in your child's bus schedule,
please send in a note so we can accurately account for children at
the end of the day.

-
- Birthdays:
- If your child would like to celebrate her/his birthday with a
special treat in class, please schedule the day with me in
advance. It is best to send individual precut treats along with
the appropriate supplies.
-
- I am very excited about the upcoming year and look forward to
meeting you all! There will be a class meeting the last week of
September. I will be sending another note home soon regarding the
specific date and time.
-
- Kind Regards,
- Ms. Karyn Denniss
