7T Florence Reflections

This year 7th grade went to visit Florence. There were many interesting things to see like the Torre di Giotto, the Uffizzi gallery, The Accademia and the David. I have three personal favorite things of the trip: One was going to sleep because we did a lot of things every day and at the end of every day you were exausted! Then I liked eating breakfast because the cornetti were delicious and finally I liked seeing the David because it was a beauty to my eyes. I also enjoyed having some free time. Some things we could have done to improve this trip was that we could go visit other people in their room and we should have ate at a better restaurant for lunch. In the end the Florence trip was OK there were some things that were fun doing and there were some things that were not fun doing.

Florence for me was a very good place to learn art and science(arte/scienza), and it was also a good place to experience how medieval people had lived a long time ago. I also thought that it was a good trip to show and see the things I have learned and how much of the things I know. This trip was also very good for knowing how people really are. During this trip I really enjoyed "FREE-TIME", because I thought it was nice to go around Florence and look at all the beautiful churches and art, and it was also nice to buy souvenirs. My favorite thing in the trip was when we went to the science museum and saw all the experiments that were done in the medieval times, we had also seen how the experiments had worked. For me Florence was a very nice place to go to for a field trip to learn all about the different medieval arts and sculptures there.

In Florence I saw many good places such as ( Tower of Giotto, The museum of science, Piazza Duomo,Bargello etc).We went to many different restaurants. Our room was in another apartment it was called The Foglia. It was close to Mr. Mullane's.This was a nice field trip for knowing each other ans I had fun with my Friends. When we had free time I always used it by buying things and look at many places. This field trip was very nice.

Florence was a very fun experience for me. Apart from the fact that we got to know our friends better, we also learned a lot. We went to visit many interesting places like The Ufizzi Gallery, The David, The Accademia, The Science Museum and San Gimignano. But my personal favourite was the Giotto tower since we got to see Florence from the top. Even though we got exhausted and tired, we were amazed by how beautiful and interesting the view was from up there. I also enjoyed the Free Time we had, because we learned how to be very indipendent, but also because we could do whatever we wanted without the teachers staying in the way. In the free time we were able to enjoy some delicious snacks, like Icecream and WAFFLES :) . We wolfed them down in seconds and even though we were full, we were in need of more. After a long and tiring day of walking we had the luck to get some more free time at the Agriturismo in Impruneta, where we would relax by hanging by the pool.... though it was very tempting to dive in, luckily we managed. Something that many people were annoyed about was the fact that we couldn't "SOCIALIZE". Which meant go in other people's rooms. Other than that the trip was loads of fun, and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to go.

FLORENCE WAS A VERY GOOD TRIP FOR ME. THE PART I LIKED MOST WAS SAN GIMIGNIANO,SANTA MARIA NOVELLA, THE SCIENCE MUSEUM, PIAZZA DUOMO AND BARJELO. ALSO CLIMBING THE TOWER OF GIOTO WAS GREAT!

Florence was a great trip in general but my favourite part of it was when the teachers let us explore the city on our own. It was fun to go around Florence with our friends, using maps to know where we were going and recognizing monuments when we passed them, or using them as reference to know how to get to the "meeting place". Also getting lost (or thinking we were lost) was fun, because we got a chance to make it all on our own. And of course when we were alone there was a lot of time to shop for souvenirs!

I was really impressed by the "Prisoners", made by Michelangelo. These marvelous statues were in the Accademia, one of the most famous museums in Florence. I was particularly surprised by Michelangelo's carving skills. You could really empathiza with what those human-size statues have felt: sadness, suffering, desperation, while trying to escape from the stone. These stone bodies contorted in strange positions that helped you understand better their desperation. I was really amused by these statues.

This Florence trip , for me, was a very nice and fun experience. During this trip, I got the chance to know everyone better, and have fun with my friends. We also visited many palaces and churches, like Santa Maria Novella or the Pitti Palace. We also got to climb the Giotto tower and even if you were pretty exausted when you arrived at the top,it was a nice experience that I would redo. The best part of this trip was when, (after a busy morning) we had the opportunity to hang around with our friends and have fun, during free-time. ussually, every day, we woke up and ate breakfast at the "agriturismo" where we slept , called "Villa L'olmo", and spend part of the morning visting palaces or churches. After a very stressing day, we walked to a place , that was only 5 minuts away from the agriturismo, and ate dinner all together. I remember that one evening, mrs duranti separated us and we still had all fun, because i think that even though we hang around with some people, we are still all freinds.
i think this trip has been pretty funny, not only because we stayed all together , but even thanks to my room mates, Celina, Carmen and Eleonora that made every single evening , fantastic and fun.

I found the trip a way to better know the members of the class and the teachers. One evening at dinner time we also had to sit next to someone who we don't usually speak a lot with. Me and my friend Ale sat next to Klara and we learned a lot about her. Ms Duranti said that she saw Klara not so shy as she usually is while we were having dinner. Apart from this it was a very nice trip because we had the chance to see the centre of the Italian renaissance. We visited lots of monuments, churces and famous palaces. It was like going inside a history book. The anecdote that I will always remeber is the one that happened on the second day. When we went to visit the Giotto Tower I stopped to take some pictures from what I thought was the top. When I finished I didn't see anyone of my class mates so I thought that they had gone down. When I went down Mr Mullane told me that I hadn't reached the top but only three quarters of the tower and that everyone was at the very top. I decided to go to the very top and when I reached everyone I was compleately out of breath. I remained at the top seeing the wonderful view of all the city for about 15 minutes, the time to get back the breath. I had done a total of about 1565 steps. This trip was a wonderful exeperience!!!

For me this trip was a break from school, but not a break from learning. The part of the trip that I preferred was when we went to the "Uffizzi" Gallery near Piazza Delle Signorie and there was my favorite painting "La Primavera" painted by Botticelli but also many others. Another visit that I enjoyed was the one to the Accademia where the David is . The David was enormous and really well made. Another thing I appreciated was when we could have free time in the Agriturismo that was a fabulous place built in the middle of the Tuscan countryside and we had alot of time to spend having fun with our friends.

My favourite things about Florence were first going to San Gimignano. I liked it becouse of all the free time we got. During that free time we could walk around the city and visit shops we would want to see. The one thing I liked to get at the shops of San Gimignano was food. I got 3 ice creams and 20 pieces of salami. I did not like going to all the churches in the city because we sat there sketching for an half hour.
I also liked climbing the Giotto Tower becouse I'm full of energy. I saw the view from up there and I could see the whole city. In Florence there were tonnes of soccer shops and i liked going and looking at them durring my free time.
I like acting like a tourist and saying sorry to every one in the city.

For me Florence was very beautiful and we had loads of fun. My favourite part was when we got free time and when we climbed the Giotto's Tower. I also enjoyed to see the nice view. I liked that we went with the whole class to Florence because the teachers knew a lot of information. It was also nice that we did work shops. The place we stayed in was really nice and I liked that we got our own houses. The restaurants had very good food. I will never forget this trip to Florence with 7T.

Florence for me was very fun and interesting. The agriturismo where we stayed was very nice, and in actual Florence we visited many museum and important renaissance sites. One of my favorite museums was the science museum we went to. The simple machines there were interesting, especially since we were studying them. I also liked having free time, to just walk around the "no-cars" (pedestrian) part of Florence, and trying the ice-cream and waffles. Another fun part was the sketching. I like sketching, and drawing what we saw was a way to help us enhance our drawing skills but also to help us look at the details. For example when we were seeing the David we had to sketch it. It helped me understand how great a sculpture it really is, how good Michelangelo is at showing how tense the David was just before he was about to kill Goliath. Overall I really liked Florence, and would like to go again.

Florence for me was one of my favourite trips. It was very beautiful and I had loads of fun! One of my favourite parts of the trip was when we climbed the Giottos Tower. It was a lovely experience to see Florence from so high above. It was hard at the beginning to go all the steps up and I thought I would never make it but when I got up I was so impressed by the view that I said to my-self that I am happy I came all the way up. The view was amazing and it was nice and breezy up there. It is a view I will never forget.

Florence for me was a very fun and interesting trip. We visited many museums and got free time to enjoy and have fun in Florence on our own. The 'agriturismo' we stayed at was amazing and when we got free time there (after a busy day visiting Florence) we also had fun. After spending a bit of time at the agriturismo, we went to dinner which was about 5 minutes away from the town, and there was always different but good food there to eat. We saw many museums with very important and special art in it, as well as sketching monuments, palaces and statues. The part I liked the most was climbing the Giotto tower and visiting and drawing the David. The Uffizi Gallery I also found interesting because I had seen many of the pintings only in books, but then I actually got to see them in the museum. I really enjoyed my time in Florence and I would love to go again, but always as a class, so I have all my friends.
