Dear E.C. Parents,

Have you always wanted to see your name in print?

Would you like to be part of our limited edition, prestigious cookery book?
Wish no longer! We are inviting you to share a special recipe, savoury or sweet, with us that we will add to the recipes from our previous edition, compiled and printed about 7 years ago. It will be edited and put on sale at the holiday bazaar this December. All of the proceeds from the book will go towards one of our new charities, the Casa Famiglia at Rocca Di papa. The children living at Rocca range in age from 2 years old to 18. The building they live in is big, old and unwelcoming and we would like to take one room and refurbish it to make it a little more inviting.
We would like to give them the small pleasure of having a warm friendly space to share where they can play and study.
 
We hope to achieve this over the winter period and with your help and generosity we believe this is a possible.

The E.C Teachers

Dear E.C. Parents,
 
         We have been working hard, making new friends and settling into our new classrooms. It is a busy start to the year and  ever corner of the school is buzzing with enthusiastic students and teachers. We wanted to take a moment to remind you of school policies and some upcoming events.
 
* School starts at 8:45.  Prep and Grade 1 need to be very punctual.  Nursery and Kinder please arrive by 9:15 at the latest so we can have an accurate lunch count and bus list. If you arrive late you MUST check in with Ms. Gigi.
 
* Parent Meetings are next week, 4:00-5:00. On Tuesday, 15th Prep will hold their meeting. On Wednesday 16th it is Kinder’s turn and Grade 1 will be held on Wednesday 23rd.
This is an important time for you to meet your child’s teachers, hear about their schedules, see their class materials, etc.  Please arrange to come and be aware that there is NO childcare available.
 
* There will be a Fire Drill on Monday 14th September.  Please explain to your children that this is just a practice drill so they will understand what is happening. Teachers will go over the procedure beforehand.
 
* After school Activities begin on Monday, September 21st.
 
* The PE department has asked that all children come dressed for PE on the days they have PE classes. For EC this means a sweatsuit (tutta) or shorts (pantaloncini corti) and gym shoes ONLY! Thank you.
 
* Nursery, Kinder and Prep parents are requested to send in a labelled set of clothes in case of "accidents".
 
* Lice are always an issue in school. Please have your children wear their hair up or braided, and please inform the school if your children have head-lice.  We will start our monthly lice checks very soon.
 
* If your child is going home with a friend, not taking their regular bus, or taking a bus to go to a play-date, please put it in writing in an email to Ms. Gigi or a phone call to Ms. Gigi. This is for your child’s safety.  
 
* The Autumn BBQ is set for Saturday, October 3rd.  We look forward to seeing you there!
