Physical Education & Sports in the Middle School

The overall goal of the Physical Education program is to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to enjoy a physically active, healthy lifestyle.

Students meet twice weekly for forty-five minutes and participate in a wide variety of physical activities and experiences that promote the mastery of the core skills and knowledge introduced at the elementary level.  Students will explore and apply information, as well as participate in activities that empower them to assume responsibility for their own lifetime health, wellness, and fitness.

The PE Department offers all of the common team sports, such as basketball, baseball and volleyball, as well as less conventional games, like pickleball, four square and capture the flag.  Extracurricular sports include soccer and volleyball and Ambrit teams compete regularly with other international schools in Rome. There is a Sports Day held twice a year, during which all students are separated into teams, and the teams compete in several different events.

At Ambrit we adhere to Socrates' statement, "Healthy body, healthy mind."
