The Right to Food

by Archimede

The right to food is one of the most important rights all of us have. Every human, boy, girl, woman or man has the right to eat. If people don’t eat people die. Everyone has the right to die but I think that no one wants die. Everyone should respect the rights of a human. People have many rights, like the right to be educated, to work, to be free, to have a decent life and to have a house that keeps you warm night and day.

The right to food is directed to everyone in the world, to some more and to others less. We Europeans have all we need and most of us have food. In the world there is enough food for every human being, but it is distributed in an unbalanced way. The cause is that people eat too much and don’t have an adequate diet.  Many people don’t have enough money to buy food or are too far away. People say, “Why don’t they grow their own food?” But there is an answer to everything I think. People don’t have land or seeds to grow their own food. If they do have these things it’s because the ground isn't fertile and in some places there are natural disasters. There is also the war in many places in the world that destroys everything.

Starvation is found mainly in China and India. The rest is found in central and South Africa, Asia and in Latin America. Also developed countries such as America and Britain have millions of starving people on the borders. Every 3.2 seconds someone in the world dies of hunger. 34.000 children die in one day of hunger.

Everything can be solved if the whole world is aware of what is happening. We can farm more and find more jobs for the poor. We should tell people to have an adequate diet and not throw the food you don't eat. U.S.A can't solve the problem alone but they can help more than others.  Starvation is a worldwide problem. We could also stop wars so that people use money on food not on weapons. When everybody will be able to eat it will be like a joyful family on weekends.
