Did
you ever wonder what the “Right to food” means? Well here
are some facts about it. In general, the right to food means-the access
to food. To be able to eat, to never starve. Now in the world, many
people are hungry, without food. These people are very thin.
Unfortunately no many people care about them. Apart from the world food
program and the UN. “Right”, the word it means to have an
access an authorization to get something. We all have a right to live.
However, those hungry people don’t have the right to food. They
can’t eat, they just don’t have food.
The
right to food, in a complete, general idea is directed at everyone!
Even to those people, who don’t have food, who don’t eat.
Everyone in the world must have access to food. We need food for energy
and strength. And for the main reason-to survive. Sadly, very sadly not
everyone can eat till this day. The hungriest spots in the world are
the following. Africa: the east, a little bit in the south. Especially
in the east-Ethiopia. The entire, or at least ¾ of the entire
region is hungry. Other places are in the west side of Europe: Spain
and Portugal. However, the countries that don’t have hunger are
of course the most developed ones. Europe (east, south and north),
Australia and of course, the U.S. In the world, there is enough food to
feed everyone. So why is this happening-hunger? Why 800 million people
go to bed hungry? Why every 3.2 seconds a person dies of hunger? Well
the most often and the most famous reasons are-natural disasters, human
activities and other reasons. The natural disasters are: floods,
droughts and storms. Thanks to them, the agricultural implants are
destroyed. Which leads to the loss of crops. The human activities,
however are the following. First-wars, which kill people, who could be
field workers. Wars can also destroy crops. Then-pollution, the water,
the air, it is all polluted by our human activities. The crops can get
infected and so can the food. Finally our main danger, not only for
food hunger but for our entire population: the green house effect, or
global warming.
The
main ways to fight hunger are the following. First the countries that
have more food, should probably export to the poorer countries, with
less food. Then, humans need to better predict natural disasters like
floods or droughts. If floods come, then build dams to stop it. If
droughts come, then get a lot of water to feed the plants.
