The Right to Food
By Raphael
I think the Right to Food is
directed at those people who don’t have the luxury to have food
when in need of it. Having food is considered a right because out of
the 6 billion people in this world, 1 million can’t afford to
have the amount of food they need.
The distribution of food in the world is unbalanced. Food problems
happen in very poor places, like India, China, South Africa or Asia.
Many causes of food shortage nowadays are mostly economic. But it is
also true that war causes hunger, death and economic depression. Pests
like locusts destroy food and crops. There are natural disasters like
hurricanes, earthquakes that cause hunger. Even man is to blame. Global
warming, hunting and exploitation of developing countries can cause a
lack of hunger which leads to death.
A way to stop hunger would be to have more organizations specialized
only in helping people with health and hunger problems. Countries that
are most in need of this aid still have a problem of over population.
There are too many mouths to feed.
Enjoying the right to food is like soaring high into the sky of satisfaction.
Not having the right to food is like walking with no legs.
