The Susan Komen Foundation Race for the Cure
Terme di Caracalla Stadium -10 a.m.
In 2008, Susan G. Komen for the Cure
celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Komen Race for the Cure,
the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, with
well over 1 million participants since 2005.
The Komen Race for the Cure Series raises
significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast
cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those
who have lost their battle with the disease.
The Race is not only a sport competition, but
also a three day-long celebration, in which you can run, walk,
cheer or just relax in the Race Village, where you can listen to
live music, collect gadgets or enjoy refreshments offered by our
sponsors.
If you are a breast cancer survivor or if you
know someone who has fought this battle, the Race is a special
moment for celebrating strength and courage. At the "Survivors
Tent", all the survivors will enjoy breakfast together and pick up
pink caps, pink T-shirts and a special gift!
We are very pleased to have 175 sign-ups for
the Race for the Cure, this Sunday, 18 May, at the Terme di
Caracalla, beginning at 10:00. The bags and T-shirts will be
delivered on Thursday and can be collected during the day. If you
would like to walk with the Ambrit group, we will be meeting at
the service station on the corner of Viale Aventino and Via
Aventina at 9.30. See you on Sunday morning.
