Bernard Mullane, Loretta Nannini and Jeanne-Marie Byron traveled to Shillong to represent Ambrit at the inauguration ceremony. It was a wonderful opportunity to share in this memorable day for the 47 boys who live at the orphanage and see first hand what has been created through the generosity of the Ambrit community.

It's a beautiful sunny day and the guests and the children gather in preparation of the ceremony.

The ceremony begins, attended by the governor of the state of Meghalaya and other important dignitaries from the community, including Anita Roy, former Ambrit teacher, and her husband Frank Roy.
The speeches were heartfelt and very inspiring, highlighting the right of every child to shelter, food, clothing and education.
The boys and the girls sang for us.
After the ceremony, we mingled and met the children.
And we were taken on a tour of the premises.
The afternoon ended with a soccer match between the orphanage boys and
a local team.
The boys played while the girls enthusiastically cheered them on.
At the end of the game, everyone was a winner. Each team received a new soccer ball as well as Ambrit caps for each player.
The ceremony was featured in several Shillong newspapers and on news channels.
The following day, Mr. Mullane visited the girls home which is in a different location.
