The Khasi-Jaintia Orphanage in Shillong, Meghalaya in India
AMBRIT HOUSE PROJECT
Dear Ambrit Parents,
What do you need to build a home?...bricks, and if you look up the word "brick" in the Oxford English dictionary it says, " a rectangular block of baked clay used for building." If you ask a Nursery, Kinder or Prep child what a brick is they will most likely tell you that it is something that you play with on the floor, throw around or is what saved the Three Little Pigs from the big bad wolf. The bricks they know of are small enough to fit in the palm of their hands and usually brightly colored to stimulate their senses BUT they are easily knocked down. The bricks that we want to propose to Ambrit children, parents, and teachers are strong and sturdy and will build a new wing of the Shillong orphanage of North East India, hometown of Mrs. Anita Roy.
For the past 6 years Ambrit has been taking an active role in helping the children from this orphanage. Through Mrs. Roy we have been able to send clothes, shoes, Christmas gifts and money QUICKLY and DIRECTLY to the orphanage without the bureaucracy that is often associated with many charities.
We need Euro 15,000 to complete "Ambrit House", which will be the name of the new wing when it is completed, and we need your help. Each brick will cost Euro 10 and whoever decides to buy one will have their family name recognized as benefactors towards making the completion of the "Ambrit House" wing possible. If each Ambrit family purchases one or 2 bricks we will be able to reach our goal of helping many children, who are much less fortunate than us, to have a better life and a brighter future. Mr. Mullane will be traveling to India to visit the orphanage in April, and can deliver the funds personally. Children without parents are unfortunately a sad reality and we would like a comfortable home for them to live in to become a happy one.

Di cosa c'è bisogno per costruire una casa? ... di mattoni! Se cercate questa parola sull'Oxford English Dictionary troverete la seguente definizione: "blocchetto rettangolare di argilla cotta usato nell'edilizia". Se invece domandate a un bambino dell'asilo che cos'è un mattone, probabilmente vi risponderà che è una cosa con cui si può giocare sul pavimento, che si può sparpagliare in giro e che sono i mattoni che hanno salvato i tre porcellini dal lupo cattivo. I mattoni che conoscono loro sono così piccoli che stanno nel palmo di una mano e hanno colori vivaci per stimolare i sensi Ma servono a costruire case che possono essere abbattute facilmente. I mattoni che noi proponiamo ai bambini delll'Ambrit e ai loro genitori e insegnanti, invece, son solidi e duraturi e serviranno per costruire la nuova ala dello Shillong Orphanage of North East India, nella città di origine di Ms Anita Roy.
Sono sei anni che l'Ambrit sostiene attivamente i bambini di questo orfanotrofio e, grazie a Mrs. Roy, abbiamo potuto inviare loro vestiti, scarpe, regali di Natale e denaro in modo RAPIDO e DIRETTO, senza incontrare i soliti ostacli burocratici.
Ci servono 15,000 euro per completare la nuova ala che sarà chiamata "Ambrit House", e abbiamo bisogno del vostro aiuto. Ciascun mattone costerà 10 euro e le famiglie che ne acquisteranno uno saranno menzionate tra i benefattori che hanno reso possibile la costruzione dell'Ambrit House. Se ogni famiglia comprasse uno o anche due mattoni potremmo raggiungere il nostro obiettivo e aiuteremmo tanti bambini più sfortunati dei nostri ad aver una vita migliore e un futuro più promettente.
Mr. Mullane visiterà l'orfanotrofio ad Aprile e potrà consegnare di persona la somma raggiunta. I bambini che non hanno i genitori purtroppo sono una triste realtà e ci piacerebbe che avessero almeno una casa accogliente in cui vivere più felici.
