Music activities after school include private lessons for voice, piano, guitar, flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, viola, 'cello, rock ensemble, and drumming.  There is also  Primary String Ensemble, and Middle School Ensemble.

All students who are in a club, ensemble, choirs, or private lessons must be enrolled in the After School Program. Enrolling once a term entitles you to then enroll in after school activities of any kind, including music.

Click on Ambrit Choirs or Ensembles if you want information about them. Read on if you are interested in private lessons.

Private lessons are usually 30 minutes once a week. A limited number of spaces are available, and priority is given to students from the previous year and their siblings. In the event it is not possible to take a lesson at school, we will help you find a teacher near your area.

In order to be successful in learning a musical instrument you need to have your own instrument at home so you can practice every day. If you are also taking swimming lessons, language lessons, tutoring hours, gymnastics and soccer, will you also find time to play your instrument every day?

Payment for lessons is made directly to your instrument teacher. If you are sick, you are responsible for calling your teacher by 8:00 a.m. on the day of the lesson; in the event you do not notify your teacher by that time, the lesson is considered to have taken place. If you notify your teacher before that time, you will be able to pro-rate your lesson to the next term. Excuses must be for serious illness or situations reasonably beyond the control of the student. Vacations, dentist and doctor appointments and parties are NOT considered valid absences. Do not forget your books!

Students will not be pulled from classes for private music lessons. They must have their lessons before or after school.
