Ambrit Prospectus: Early Childhood Center
Ambrit's Early Childhood Unit provides a child-centered environment that promotes a positive self-image and a sense of responsibility. Through guided developmental activities and play, each child grows in his or her cognitive, physical, artistic and social skills. The first step from home to school is taken with security and sensitivity. Daily experiences are offered with blocks, toys, painting, music, dramatic play and movement. Reading readiness and math concepts are sequentially introduced through concrete experiences and manipulative materials.

Language skills - including listening, writing, writing and speaking - are developed by means of an integrated whole language approach. Students acquiring English as a Second Language are guided through the experience by a multilingual special staff.

Communication in English and cooperation in work and play are emphasised in the Nursery Class. Kindergarten continues to enrich the child's love of learning. The child's first experiences in reading and writing are the focal points at the Preparatory level. The Grade One programme contains the growth stages in math, reading and writing based on the child's individual needs. Appreciation of literature, integrated science and social studies, and a rich and varied arts programme complement academic work.
