Ambrit Prospectus: Middle School

Cooperative learning in the Science Lab

The Ambrit Middle School programme is based on the unique needs and characteristics of the preadolescent student. Students are offered varied experiences for exploration and extension of knowledge considered fundamental for intellectual development and personal growth.

Supported by an experienced faculty, students follow a core academic programme with courses in English, mathematics, the sciences, social studies, foreign languages and computers. Interdisciplinary approaches are utilised to provide integration of all curricular areas. The rigorous academic programme is further enhanced at this level by a strong creative arts programme that includes dance and movement, studio art and recorder lessons, as well as music and art appreciation. Study and research skills are developed through direct instruction as well as through library experiences and writing laboratories.

The preparation of bilingual Italian/English speaking students continues at the Middle School level. Utilising a variety of curriculum options, these students receive instruction in Italian in the subjects covered by the Italian Scuola Media thereby preparing them to enter either an international high school or an Italian liceo.
