Ambrit Prospectus: Primary School

The Primary School Classroom emphasises Participation

The Primary Section encompasses grades two through five.

The core subjects of mathematics, language arts, social studies and science are covered in the self-contained classroom. As the school days unfold, students attend sessions with specialist teachers in art, music, physical education, computer and library. Congruent with the school's philosophy of educating students for a global community, language study is given increased emphasis in the elementary years. Entering students are provided with English as an Additional Language on the basis of individual needs.

The basic skills are strengthened through an interdisciplinary approach using thematic units at both the individual grade level and school-wide. A coordinated curriculum ensures the sequential learning of skills and concepts in all core subject areas. Additionally, Ambrit utilises an international curriculum inspired by the International Schools Curriculum Project, thus ensuring curriculum continuity for transient students. Ambrit also has a unique parallel Italian bilingual programme of study beginning at the Primary School level. This programme provides students who are bilingual in Italian and English, the opportunity to pursue additional and complementary studies that prepare them for the Italian state elementary examination system.
